A company culture that aligns with one's own values is more important to many than a high salary, according to a study by Glassdoor. MATCH-V is the latest assessment in our platform that makes it easy for companies to identify their own culture and more accurately attract and recruit the right talents.

A strong organisational culture is more important and makes employees happier than a high salary. This is the result of a study from 2019 conducted by the global job platform Glassdoor, which surveyed over 5,000 working adults in the USA, UK, France, and Germany about what is most important to them at work. 56 percent of respondents stated that a strong organisational culture is more important than salary. Culture is a particularly high priority for young adults - two-thirds of British millennials ranked culture higher than salary. The study also showed that values are an important issue for the majority of today's employees. 73 percent of respondents stated that they would not apply for a job at a company whose values do not align with their own.

In order to be successful in their recruitment, companies need to be good not only at matching individuals to their roles, but also at matching them to their culture. It is not enough to bring in people who are skilled in their roles, they also need to thrive, feel seen, and stay long enough for the organisation to benefit from their performance, says Anders Knutsson, Development Manager at Assessio.

"With MATCH-V, we have strived to create a tool that is as simple and intuitive as possible to offer a matching score between you and a company or department."

MATCH-V - an assessment that measures motivation

Assessio has now launched MATCH-V, a test that measures both motivational factors and cultural preferences of individuals. By aligning their cultural profile with the criteria in MATCH-V, companies can then measure how well the organisational culture aligns with a candidate's values and needs. Anders Knutsson is part of the research team that developed MATCH-V.

Anders Knutsson says that the test can also be an important part of the candidate selection process. Two individuals who have received a similar match result on a competency profile can have completely different results on MATCH-V, which can provide clear indications of who ultimately has the right person-job fit..

With MATCH-V you can:

  • Identify how well a candidate matches an organisational culture.
  • Profile your team's or organisation's culture to align with strategic goals.
  • Build teams with individuals who share the same values.
  • Measure the opportunities and effects of change management.
  • Avoid hiring individuals who do not share the company's values or fit into the culture.
  • Provide a deeper understanding of what motivates employees and how their engagement can be stimulated and increased.
