“By using tests early in our hiring processes, we make sure we select candidates with the skills we’re looking for. In this way, we ensure efficiency without compromising the quality of employment, which is absolutely critical when you’re such a’ n 200 to 400 responses per vacancy.”

Screening for personality traits

MAP Essence uses screening algorithms to measure how service-oriented a candidate is and to what extent he or she has a professional attitude to work. One algorithm measures service orientation. The other algorithm measures integrity (working attitude) and indicates how cooperative, stress-resistant and accurate the candidate is. You can then easily rank the test results in the system. Clear and simple.

Quick and efficient

With MAP Essence screening you can streamline and significantly shorten your recruitment process. You will therefore quickly know who meets the basic conditions you have set. Replace the resume and motivation letter with a short personality measurement to separate the wheat from the chaff. How much does a resume actually say about a person’s qualities? And how important is someone’s CV for a position in the hospitality industry, at a call center, behind the cash register or as a conductor or mail deliverer? After all, service orientation and a professional attitude to work are paramount in these types of roles.

Fair recruitment process

When recruiting candidates, it’s easy to blindly stare at experience. Just because someone has worked in a retail store before doesn’t necessarily mean he or she is more service-oriented than others. By using a personality measurement, you meet all candidates who are very service-oriented. Also candidates who have no experience in retail, but who would like and are able to make a career switch.

The screening algorithms give your organization direct insight into the personal suitability of a candidate for roles and positions where service orientation and/or a professional attitude are important to be able to deliver good work. For example, with shop staff, warehouse employees, salespeople, mechanics or postmen. MAP Essence is very suitable for use in positions that often attract many applicants. With the short personality measurement you quickly know which candidates have your basic criteria. Efficient and effective.

When and how do I use MAP Essence?

Use MAP Essence early in the recruitment process to make a quick selection between suitable and unsuitable candidates in an objective and non-discriminatory way. By testing all candidates, everyone is treated equally, regardless of previous work experience, gender, age or background.

The test result immediately shows which candidates have the crucial qualities necessary to perform well in the position. Unsuitable candidates are immediately eliminated. This means that you will only meet candidates who meet your basic criteria. As a result, you can also focus on other matters during an interview, such as whether someone in the team or fits the organizational culture.

MAP Essence is a shortened version of Assessio’s personality test MAP. MAP is based on the well-known Big Five personality model. MAP Essence maps a candidate’s five personality factors: friendliness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, extroversion and openness.

After the candidate takes the test, screening algorithms are deployed to read the result. One algorithm measures how service-oriented the candidate is and the other algorithm measures the work attitude and describes how cooperative, stress-resistant and accurate a candidate is.

Yes, just like the original MAP version, MAP Essence is DNV certified. This certification is a guarantee that the test has a high validity and reliability. This way you can be sure that the test meets strict quality requirements.

DNV-GL is an independent certification body that assesses, among other things, work psychological tests. They have been responsible for test reviews in Sweden since 2015. The certifications include personality tests, competence tests and team tests. DNV-GL uses the EFPA standard for test evaluation as the basis for certification. Each review is performed by two independent experts.
